Popcorn Trail Mix

Vegan.  Healthy. Delicious. Easy.

This trail mix may be simple, but it's fun to eat and a great way to boost your energy mid-hike.

  • 0.25 cup Raw almonds
  • 0.25 cup Raw cashews
  • 0.25 cup Dried cranberries
  • 0.25 cup Vegan chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1 cup Air popped popcorn 

Nutrition Information (1/2 recipe):

  • 380 Calories
  • 8 g Protein
  • 39 g Carbs (18 g Sugar, 7.5 g Fiber)
  • 23 g Fats (8 g Sat Fat, 0 g Cholesterol)

This is a fun treat, because every bite is a little different than the last!

On the Hike

We enjoyed our trail mix on the Sunset Trail in the Laguna Mountains, which is located in east San Diego County, California.  It was a hot day, so we welcomed the chance to sit on a shaded rock and enjoy the trail mix and plenty of water.  Our view as we ate was Big Laguna Lake, where water birds swam and the breeze blew across the open pasture. These are the peaceful and serene moments that I crave as a hiker.
